The Running Springs Farmers Market and Artisan Faire wishes to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country this Memorial Day weekend.

We are expecting even more vendors at the market this Saturday! JDH Unlimited (jewelry with stamping), Cigar Box Guitars, OGT Woodturning and Glopkinberry Patch are just some of the vendors that will be joining us!
Red wiggler vermiculture farm is bringing worm castings compost, which is reported to make plants germinate better and grow faster! You could also add pottery and antiques to the list (a lot of people do yard sales this weekend so maybe they’ll stop by).
Sue is offering shoes in exchange for a donation that will help to support Lake Arrowhead Christian School’s senior mission trip. Ready for Tamales? It looks like The Tamale Guy is coming on Saturday!
We have seen a few questions about when the market will have tomatoes available. The short answer? In June or July. Buenrostro Farm’s certificate shows that tomatoes will be coming in June, but the Department of Agriculture gives dates with a window of two weeks before or after – so your best bet is to ask the farmer when the tomatoes might be ready. Gaytan Family Farms lists tomatoes coming in June, with different varieties being offered in July. Little Wingnut Farms will also have tomatoes in June. Buenrostro also lists: cantaloupe, basil, okra, jalapeño peppers, potatoes, bell peppers, corn, papalo, watermelon and green beans are all coming in June! You may get lucky and see some things appear even earlier (just like the small amount of corn from last week).
Have you tried the oranges from Happy Hawk Farm? They are so sweet and delicious, you’ll definitely want to buy more than one. While you’re there, grab yourself some avocados and be ready to pick up even more later because there are a lot available this year!
